Within me

Within me, deep inside,
Deep between my breast,
Lie’s a sad and dormant pain,
A heartfelt ache,
An agony,
That will, always remain.

Choking, raw emotion,
Rises through my chest,
Cutting out my breathing,
A feeling I detest.
As I struggle to push it down,
Ignore this awful stain,
My memories, burning aim,
This emotional burning pain.

And others do not see,
I avert my eyes from thee,
If they looked into my soul,
To the burning pits of shoal,
From there, there is no way,
To escape this dread, decay,
As you fall into the depths,
In frustrated pain you’ll stay.
