Grounded!!

Down, down, dragging, down,
Its pulling me the ground,
The force of life diminishes,
As all worldly things, it finishes.

Gravity pulling me down,
I’m aching, falling, bound,
This earthly life, departing,
A new beginning, starting.

As winter takes its toll,
On us, our light, it stole,
And darkness does descend,
My spirit will transcend.

And crushing earth, does bury,
Deep beneath the soil,
This body that does wither,
Dies, and rots, despoil.

Now, my spirit, soars,
High into the skies,
The freedom that I relished,
My earthly life, defied.
